Black History Month – 2025

Greetings,

During the month of February, the 13th International District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. joins the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) in promoting the 2025 theme: “African Americans and Labor.”

The 2025 Black History Month theme, “African Americans and Labor,” highlights the many ways Black people have contributed to the workforce throughout history. This includes jobs that were forced and free, skilled and unskilled, as well as volunteer work. By looking at the different types of work African Americans have done, we can learn more about their struggles, achievements, and culture over time. This theme also encourages people to explore how Black workers have shaped history, not just in the United States, but also in Africa and across the world. Understanding these contributions helps us appreciate the past, recognize challenges in the present, and work toward a better future.

The 13th International District remains committed to Dr. Carter G. Woodson (the Father of Black History Month) vision of uplifting communities around the world through education, the arts, music, and entertainment.
