Unity Day is a day to wear and share orange, sending a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. It is held on the third Wednesday of October. The color orange symbolizes “Unity” as we join as one to take a stand against bullying. The Brothers of the 13th International District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. are looking forward to participating in Unity Day to be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
In 2011, PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center started Unity Day as a signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. The call to action was to “Make it Orange and Make it End. Unite Against Bullying!” Participants were encouraged to wear orange to show their support for bullying prevention. Ellen DeGeneres participated in Unity Day 2011 by wearing orange on her TV show, Ellen, and posting about the event on her website.
Unity Day continues to grow every year as a tangible representation of the universal message that our society wants to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent bullying.
